Antique Tube Radios

This page is about old tube radios. My special interests were in the beginning in so called 'Three Dialers' from the 20ties, made by Freed-Eisemann and Atwater Kent. In Europe and Germany those receivers are really rare, but by observing the eBay market of eBay.com I got a good impression about fair prices.

But my interests were growing generally into American tube radios, mostly Portables from the 1940ies and 1950ies, and also some interesting radios from France.

American Receivers from the 1920ies

Freed-Eisemann NR-7 1924

This is my first really antique radio, build in 1924. A huge cabinet of teac wood holding a Neutrodyne receiver with 6 tubes.

Atwater Kent

The only Three Dialer Receiver build in a box cabinet by Atwater Kent is the model No. 20.

With Volker Jeschkeit, a friend of mine, we did a real hunt at eBay to get affordable offers from the USA.

We've managed to get 4 of the AK20 models and 4 speakers and 1 horn.

This is the picture of the biggest Atwater Kent Party in Germany:

I'm owning one Atwater Kent model 20 receiver and two speakers:
