Serial number of my receiver is 8385 M-1, the order number 11653-PH-52 indicates that it was build in 1952 from Stewart-Warner for Collins (Tom Marcotte data on R-392 contract list )
The complete manuals and instruction books can be downloaded using this link to a BAMA mirror: kg7bz/r392 Power Supply: R-392 needs DC power of 3A between 24 VDC and 28 VDC. Because of tubes with 26.5 VDC heaters best performance will be achieved with at least this voltage. I found an Hewlett-Packard power supply from the early 70ies, which delivers 6.5A at 28 VDC and offers the possibility to adjust output voltage +/- 5%. This gives me a perfect power source for R-392.
